Fr. Kerry Ninemire
Year Began at St. Francis Xavier
I went to St. Francis Seminary High School in Victoria, KS. For college, I received by B.A. degree in Philosophy from St. Mary's College in St. Mary, KY. I attended Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis finishing with a Masters of Divinity degree followed by ordination in my home parish of New Almelo, KS, in 1975. In my 48 years as a priest, I have been with parishes strongly associated with a Catholic School in 40 of these years.
I have always believed in education. My dad always regretted that he did not have enough money for college, but he did well as a rancher. But, he along with my mother, planted that seed. I enjoy reading theology, detective novels, historical fiction, and classical literature. I also enjoy art shows, theatre, and some traveling. I have six siblings who also enjoy much the same.....well maybe not as much theology!
I surprised myself by adopting a pet, a dog who is a cross between a schnauzer and a terrier. Her name is Dodie, and she gets me out walking at least 4 times a day. She met my requirements: small, no shedding, and liking people. I was blessed...and hopefully she was as well!
